✨ My Learnings ✨: at first I thought that this was a “easy one”, being so straightforward. I had to change my mind after I dove deeper into the various details of the very specific market and problem we were solving. And for once, I had to ADD friction.
I worked on the feature that enables the sale of Flexible tickets from the Austrian carrier ÖBB, which need to be generated before travel. The goal was to maintain consistencies with the feature present in the ticketing site of the original carrier while integrating it with our TL environment and experience and channel specific patterns.
Since this feature was to enable the sales of the Austrian train provider, the users would mainly be people travelling within Austria (mostly) as well as travellers across Austrian borders. The sales of tickets with OBB usually range in the 2M/year area.
Given the specificity of the market and users I worked closely with localisation to test the prototype in German with users living in Austria.
